Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
On Frontier, a DBA of Boolean AI, Inc. ("On Frontier," "we," "us," or "our"), is the contractor marketplace operated by Boolean AI, Inc., a Delaware corporation, connecting independent contractors with paid, remote AI-training and data projects offered by frontier AI laboratories (our "Clients"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have.
This Policy applies to our websites, applications, and related services (the "Platform"). It is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service. By using the Platform, you acknowledge the practices described here.
1. Personal Information We Collect
Because our Clients are frontier AI laboratories with significant security and compliance requirements, applying to and working through On Frontier involves more verification than a typical website. We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Contact information — your name, email address, and phone number.
- Account credentials — authentication data used to sign you in. We use passwordless sign-in (a one-time code sent to your email), so we do not collect or store a password.
- Work-authorization and residence details — your country of residence, your right to perform remote work there, and related visa or permit information.
- Date of birth — used to confirm you are at least 18 and to support identity verification and screening.
- Identity-verification data — government-issued identity documents, a selfie image or video, and biometric information (a scan of facial geometry derived from your selfie) and related verification results, collected and processed through our third-party identity verifier, Persona. See Section 2 (Identity Verification & Biometric Information) for details.
- Background-check results — the results of background screening conducted, where permitted by law, through a third-party screening vendor (for example, Certn).
- Professional and demographic profile — your years of experience, skill leveling and assessment results, tool and technology familiarity, your LinkedIn URL, and a linked GitHub account, along with other qualifications you provide.
- Payment and tax details — bank or payout details and tax-form information (such as W-9 or W-8 data). These are primarily collected and processed by our third-party payment and compliance provider (for example, Deel); we generally receive only limited confirmation and status information.
- Work product and submissions — the evaluations, reasoning, annotations, data, and other deliverables you produce, together with quality-review and performance information.
- Device and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, operating system, log data, pages and features used, and timestamps, collected automatically.
- Referral attribution — how you found On Frontier, including referral source and any referral code.
You are not required to provide every category, but some information — particularly verification, screening, and work-authorization data — is necessary to be matched to Projects, and without it we cannot offer you work.
2. Identity Verification & Biometric Information
When you onboard as a contractor, we verify your identity using Persona Identities, Inc. ("Persona"), a third-party identity-verification provider that acts as our service provider/processor. In this process, we and Persona collect images of your government-issued identification, a selfie image or video, and biometric identifiers and biometric information — a scan of facial geometry generated from those images and used solely to confirm that your selfie matches your ID.
Purpose & legal basis. We process this information to verify your identity, prevent fraud, and meet legal and compliance obligations. Where required (for example, in the EEA and UK), our legal basis for processing biometric data — a special category of personal data — is your explicit consent, which you provide before the verification step.
Sharing. We share this information with Persona solely to perform verification. We do not sell biometric information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or disclose it to any other third party except as required by law.
Retention. We and Persona retain identity and biometric data only as long as necessary for verification and as required by law, and we delete or de-identify it on a defined schedule. Biometric data is permanently destroyed when the verification purpose is satisfied or no later than three (3) years after your last interaction with us, whichever occurs first.
Your rights & choices. Where processing relies on your explicit consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting privacy@onfrontier.ai (withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out and may affect your ability to onboard). Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or delete this data, as described in Section 6 (Your Choices & Rights).
3. Tracking & Cookies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage, pixels, and SDKs) to operate the Platform, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, maintain security, and understand how the Platform is used. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the Platform to function; others support analytics and performance.
You can usually manage cookies through your browser settings, and where required by law we provide cookie controls or a consent banner. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Platform works. We honor recognized opt-out signals where applicable law requires.
4. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to:
- Match you to Projects based on your verified profile, skills, and eligibility;
- Screen and verify eligibility, including identity verification, background checks, work-authorization checks, and sanctions/export screening;
- Process payments for accepted work, through our payment and compliance provider, and to support tax reporting;
- Maintain quality and prevent fraud, including reviewing work, detecting multi-accounting, plagiarism, or misrepresentation, and protecting the integrity of Client projects;
- Communicate with you about your account, Projects, payments, and updates;
- Operate, improve, and analyze the Platform, including analytics and product development; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms, including responding to lawful requests and meeting our and our Clients' compliance requirements.
Where required by law, we rely on legal bases such as performance of a contract with you, your consent (for example, for certain cookies or screening), our legitimate interests in operating a safe and effective marketplace, and compliance with legal obligations.
5. How We Share Personal Information
We share personal information in the following ways:
- With Clients (AI laboratories) that engage you. To enable matching and onboarding, we share relevant profile, qualification, and eligibility information, and screening status, with the Clients considering or engaging you. Clients also receive the work product you produce for them. We share what is reasonably needed for the engagement and the Client's compliance obligations.
- With service providers. We share information with vendors who act on our behalf, including our identity-verification provider, background-check vendor, payment and compliance provider, hosting and infrastructure providers, communications tools, and analytics providers. These providers are authorized to use the information only to provide their services to us.
- For legal and compliance reasons. We may share information to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or government requests; to enforce our Terms; to conduct sanctions and export screening; and to protect the rights, safety, and security of On Frontier, our Clients, contractors, and others.
- In corporate transactions. If On Frontier is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
- With your consent. We share information in other ways when you direct or permit us to.
We do not sell your personal information for money. To the extent certain sharing for advertising or analytics is treated as a "sale" or "sharing" under laws like the CCPA, we provide the opt-out described in Section 6.
6. Your Choices & Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
- Access and update. You can review and update much of your profile information in your account, or request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction and deletion. You can ask us to correct inaccurate information or delete your information, subject to legal and contractual retention requirements.
- Marketing opt-out. You can opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us; we may still send you essential service messages.
- Cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser and any cookie controls we provide.
- Account closure. You can ask us to close your account at any time.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or a similar jurisdiction, you may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, you may have CCPA/CPRA rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale"/"sharing," and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
To exercise any right, contact privacy@onfrontier.ai. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Platform, match and pay you, and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy — and afterward as needed to comply with legal, tax, accounting, audit, and compliance obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Identity-verification, screening, and payment-related records may be retained for longer periods where law or our Clients' compliance requirements demand it. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. Biometric data is subject to the specific retention limit described in Section 2 (Identity Verification & Biometric Information).
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor due diligence. Sensitive verification and payment data is handled primarily by specialized third-party providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your account credentials confidential and notify us promptly of any suspected compromise.
9. International Data Transfers
On Frontier's contractors and Clients are located around the world, and we operate globally. Your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms — for international transfers of personal information.
10. Children
The Platform is intended only for individuals who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact privacy@onfrontier.ai.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the Platform or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Policy.
